Alzheimer’s disease is a debilitating problem for both patients and families, and with increasing elderly populations in the United States it will continue to grow.  Practitioners need to be armed with the latest diagnosis, screening, and management tools, as well as be aware of the importance of clinical research in this area.  As an expert in the area, Dr. Cummings will discuss Alzheimer’s disease and ways to improve management in primary care.

Learning Objectives

  • Outline the steps that are important in arriving at an accurate and clear diagnosis of dementia, and educate patients and their families on the process
  • Identify patients who are candidates to participate in AD research and discuss with them the importance of participation
