Program Description
With $100 million pledged, the Stand Up To Cancer scientific research committee is tasked with allocating the funds to the most promising research that will bring science to the bedside of cancer patients. Dr. Raymond DuBois, president of the American Association for Cancer Research, and provost and executive vice president at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, joins host Dr. Bruce Bloom to update us on the types of research ideas submitted and the process the committee used to select finalists from the over-240 proposals. Of these, eight will return to the next round with more developed proposals and team presentations. What research looks most promising and how will the committee determine the teams that will receive funding? Join us to find out more about the progress of this exciting project.
