Animesh Jain, MD
    Animesh Jain, MD, is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of North Carolina (UNC). He is a member of the UNC Multidisciplinary Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center. Dr. Jain completed his undergraduate education at Duke University and his medical degree from the University of Virginia. He completed internal medicine residency at New York University and gastroenterology and hepatology training at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Dr. Jain’s specializes in the care of patients with IBD, including a complex referral population of patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. He is actively involved in numerous clinical trials and registry studies being conducted in the UNC Multidisciplinary IBD Center. Dr. Jain’s research interests focus on the role of obesity as a disease-modifying factor in patients with IBD. Professionally, Dr. Jain has a particular interest in medical and professional education. He is actively involved in the education of medical students, medicine residents and gastroenterology fellows at UNC. Dr. Jain is an active member of AGA and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, where he serves as a member of the Professional Education Committee.
