Carmella Evans-Molina, MD, PhD
Carmella Evans-Molina, MD, PhD

    Dr. Carmella Evans-Molina is an assistant professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She holds a faculty appointment in the division of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism and the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Diabetes Research.

    Dr. Evans-Molina has a B.S. degree in pharmacy from West Virginia University and earned her M.D. from Marshall University. She completed her residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and her endocrinology subspecialty training and Ph.D. in pharmacology at the University of Virginia.  

    Dr. Evans-Molina is currently growing her own research program Indiana University where she studies islet biology, molecular mechanisms of diabetic complications, and stem-cell based therapies for diabetes. She is funded by a Career Development Award and an RO3 from the NIH, several internal grants from the IU School of Medicine, and foundation support from the R.B. Annis Educational Foundation.
