Daniel Freeman, PhD, DClinPsy

    Daniel Freeman is a Wellcome Trust Fellow at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London and a consultant clinical psychologist in the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. In the early 1990's he studied natural sciences at the University of Cambridge, and subsequently completed doctorates in psychology and clinical psychology. The focus of his clinical research is the psychological understanding and treatment of psychosis. This work is funded by the Wellcome Trust. Dr Freeman is one of the leading researchers on paranoia. He has recently described the new science of suspiciousness in Paranoia: The 21st Century Fear, and he is the lead author of the first self-help book on the topic, Overcoming Paranoid and Suspicious Thoughts.  In 2008 Daniel Freeman was awarded the British Psychological Society's May Davidson prize for his contribution to clinical psychology. He is a member of the Psychosis Research Partnership (PRP) with Philippa Garety, Elizabeth Kuipers, David Fowler, Paul Bebbington and Graham Dunn.
