Dariush Mozaffarian, MD
Dariush Mozaffarian, MD

    Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian is a cardiologist and epidemiologist; Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School; and Co-Director of the Program in Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.  His research focuses on the effects of lifestyle, particularly dietary habits, on cardiovascular health and disease. 

    Dr. Mozaffarian has authored numerous scientific publications and research studies relating to lifestyle and cardiovascular health, including papers on trans fatty acids; fish, contaminants, and human health; and the Meditteranean diet.  He serves on numerous national and international committees and advisory boards, including the Trans Fat Initiative Planning Committee of the American Heart Association; the FAO/WHO Expert Consultation on Fats and Fatty Acids In Human Nutrition; the Statistics Committee of the American Heart Association; the PAHO/WHO Task Force on Trans Fat Free Americas; the Canadian Health Measures Survey Expert Advisory Committee; the WHO/Gates Foundation Global Burden of Diseases Nutrition Expert Group; the AHA Council on Epidemiology and Prevention Leadership Committee; and the USDA Seafood Education Project Advisory Group.
