Debra Bakerjian, PhD, MSN
Debra Bakerjian, PhD, MSN

    Dr. Debra Bakerjian is a postdoctoral fellow at Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at University of California, Davis. She is also past-president of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (formerly the National Conference of Gerontological Nurse Practitioners) and now serves on the GAPNA Foundation Board. Dr. Bakerjian is also president of president of geriHEALTH Solutions.

    Dr. Bakerjian received her PhD in health policy and gerontology and MSN at the University of California San Francisco School of Nursing. She received an FNP/PA certificate from the University of California San Francisco Davis School of Medicine.

    Dr. Bakerjian has consulted extensively on wound care and quality improvement issues nationally and in California nursing homes to help develop sound systems, policies and procedures, and to train their nurses on assessment, management, monitoring, and documentation that is consistent with best practices. She has held a variety of community and public service positions over many years, and has served on state and national boards of directors of professional organizations and has served on many committees and task forces. At the state level, Dr. Bakerjian is on the board of directors and the immediate past chair of the education committee of California Long Term Care Medicine (CALTCM), which is the California chapter of the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA).
