Dr. Herbert Charles Sier is assistant professor of medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine; associate chief of geriatric medicine, Northwestern Memorial Hospital; and vice president of medical affairs, CJE Senior Life, Chicago.

Dr. Sier received his MD from the Medical College of Virginia, and went on to complete his residency at Lutheran General Hospital Internal Medicine and fellowship at UCLA Geriatric Medicine.

He is currently a reviewer for the Journal of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Sier is a certified medical director and is a member of the American Medical Directors Association, the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society.
