Jim Hu, MD, MPH
Jim Hu, MD, MPH

    Dr. Jim Hu is an assistant professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School, and a genitourinary surgeon and director of minimally invasive urologic oncology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

    Dr. Hu's clinical interests include prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, testis cancer, and adrenal cancers. His area of expertise focuses on applying minimally invasive approaches to treat these conditions, including robot-assisted laparoscopy. Dr. Hu's research centers around urologic health, and his previous studies have examined male-specific quality of life issues associated with prostate cancer and treatment for the disease.

    Dr. Hu earned his master's degree in public health from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and received his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine. He performed his internship in general surgery and his residency in urologic surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center, and completed his fellowship training in robotic and laparoscopic techniques in urologic oncology at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, Calif.
