Joel Gallant is Executive Director of Medical Affairs at Gilead Sciences, where he focuses on HIV therapy. Before joining Gilead he had been a professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University for 21 years, where he served as associate director of the HIV program. He subsequently directed HIV and hepatitis services at Southwest CARE Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico and held a faculty appointment at the University of New Mexico. He has conducted many clinical trials on the treatment of HIV infection and viral hepatitis.
