Dr. John Kao is the chairman and CEO of Kao & Company, a San Francisco firm that develops innovation strategies, supports innovation execution, designs innovation training programs and develops innovation centers and on-line collaboration environments. 

By training, Dr. Kao has a BA from Yale College, an MD from Yale Medical School, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He taught at  Harvard Business School from 1982 to 1996, where he specialized in innovation and entrepreneurship. He has also held faculty appointments at the MIT Media Lab, Yale College, and the US Naval Postgraduate School.

Dr. Kao's new book, Innovation Nation (www.innovationation.org), describes the challenges America faces in attempting to reinvent its innovation edge at a time when many nations are racing toward a new high ground shaped by innovation.
