Dr. Jonathan Spergel is associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He is chief of the allergy section in the division of allergy and immunology, and directs the Center for Pediatric Eosinophilic Disorders at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, part of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

After receiving an AB in chemistry from Princeton University, Dr. Spergel continued his studies at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where he received a PhD in biomedical science in conjunction with an MD. Dr. Spergel completed his residency training in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, and served his fellowship in allergy and immunology at Children's Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Spergel is a member of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, as well as the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology. In addition, Dr. Spergel serves on the editorial board for Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory Immunology.
