Kristine A. Rapp

    Kristine A. Rapp is vice president, Global Ethics & Compliance, Hospira, Inc., where she leads the office of ethics & compliance. Since Ms. Rapp joined Hospira in 2004, she has overseen the creation and implementation of the company's Code of Business Conduct, and set the strategy for several key internal global compliance programs and policies, such as the Procedures for Interactions with Healthcare Professionals.

    Prior to joining Hospira, Ms. Rapp was associate general counsel and chief regulatory counsel for Baxter International, a position that she held from 1996 to 2004. In that role, Ms. Rapp lead Baxter's regulatory law department in matters of corporate compliance and regulatory compliance. She also provided strategic legal counsel to corporate and business unit management as a member of Baxter's senior management team.

    After she joined Baxter as an attorney, Ms. Rapp held positions of account executive, Corporate Marketing; national manager, National Accounts Program; general manager, Nordic Area; vice president, Blood Therapy Group; and senior regulatory counsel. Ms. Rapp also was an executive on loan from Baxter to American Red Cross Blood Services where she served as general manager, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. Ms. Rapp began her career as an attorney at the firm of Rooks, Pitts, Fullagar & Poust.

    Ms. Rapp is a special representative to the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) and serves on the working group revising AdvaMed's Code of Ethics on Interaction with Health Care Professionals. Ms. Rapp previously chaired the working group responsible for developing and implementing the 2004 AdvaMed Code of Ethics. She also previously chaired the Food Drug Law Institute (FDLI) and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Lake County, IL.

    Ms. Rapp earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Michigan, a juris doctorate from Northwestern University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois and the District of Columbia.
