Mark Boucek, MD

    Dr. Mark Boucek is the director of pediatric cardiovascular services at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. He also currently serves as the associate director for pediatric transplantation for the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation; as an executive board member for the Pediatric Heart Failure Society; as a pediatric board member for the Heart Failure Society of America; and as a member of the pediatric committee for the American Society of Transplant Surgeons.

    His major scientific interests include invasive and interventional pediatric cardiology, infant and pediatric cardiac transplantation, echocardiography and tissue characterization, and fetal cardiology. Previously, he served as a professor of pediatrics in the section of cardiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, while working at one of the university's teaching affiliates, the Children's Hospital of Denver.

    Dr. Boucek earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency in the department of pediatrics at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He then finished his fellowship in pediatrics, within the section of cardiology, at the University of Utah College of Medicine.
