Mary Mancini, RN, PhD
    Beth Mancini is Professor and Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Nursing Programs at University of Texas at Arlington. In addition, she serves as Administrator of UTA School of Nursing’s Smart Hospital. Prior to moving to an academic role in 2004, Dr. Mancini was the Senior Vice President of Nursing Administration at Parkland Health & Hospital System, a position she held for 18 years. Beth obtained her nursing degree from Rhode Island Junior College, her BSN from Rhode Island College, her Masters in Nursing Administration from the University of Rhode Island and her PhD in Public and Urban Affairs at The University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Mancini has completed a Johnson & Johnson Wharton Nurse Executive Fellowship at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania and a National Association of Public Hospitals Management Fellowship program through the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University. In recognition of her pioneering efforts in support of nursing, in 1994, Dr. Mancini was inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. In 1999, Dr. Mancini co—founded the National Registry of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (NRCPR) – which has become the world’s largest registry for in-hospital cardiac resuscitation events. She continues to serve as chair of NRCPR’s Science Advisory Board. Dr. Mancini is an active member of numerous nursing and health care organizations. She has served as a Commissioner for the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Chair of the Hospital Professional and Technical Advisory Committee for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, Along with other leadership positions in professional organizations, currently Dr. Mancini serves is Co-Chair of the Education Task Force for the International Liaison Committee for Resuscitation, Chair of the Certification, Accreditation and Technical Standards Committee for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, Chair of the Education Committee for the Texas Nursing Association, and is a member of the American Heart Association‘s Executive Database Steering Committee and Education Committee. Dr. Mancini has over 70 publications to her credit and is a sought after speaker having spoken at local, national and international conferences on such topics as teaching, retention and outcomes from Basic and Advanced Life Support Training; Patient Safety, Emergency and Critical Care Nursing; Nursing Research, Work Redesign and Patient Safety issues.
