Matthew Corso, JD

    Matthew T. Corso, Esq., focuses his practice at Buchanan, Ingersoll and Rooney, PC, on a wide range of services including commercial litigation, health care law, medical malpractice, long term care litigation, catastrophic loss and professional liability. Mr. Coso has more than 10 years of experience, primarily representing health care providers. Prior to joining Buchanan, he focused much of his practice on health care litigation with management responsibilities for a 25-attorney law firm's long-term care department.

    Mr. Corso has experience defending clients in major jury trials involving medical malpractice. He has represented physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, nurses, therapists and administrators. His practice has included white-collar criminal investigations, regulatory matters, disciplinary and board actions and administrative proceedings and complex mass-tort proceedings.

    Mr. Corso has experience counseling clients in risk management and developing policies and procedures. He has litigated cases in federal court and venues throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition, he has represented clients in various alternative dispute formats including arbitration and mediation, and has litigated complex commercial litigation cases.

    Mr. Corso has spoken to national audiences on long term care litigation, malpractice prevention and risk management. He also has been a regular contributor to long term care industry publications.

    Before joining the private sector, Mr. Corso served as an assistant public defender in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he represented criminal defendants in felony and misdemeanor cases. He also handled juvenile court matters and mental health proceedings.

    Upon receiving his law degree, Mr. Corso clerked for the Honorable Isaac S. Garb and the Honorable Kenneth G. Biehn in the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.
