Michael Marin, MD

    Dr. Michael Marin, professor and chair of surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, is the founder of Mount Sinai Hospital's endovascular surgery program.

    In addition to an active clinical practice and teaching, Dr. Marin has published extensively on topics in vascular surgery, with an emphasis on intimal hyperplasia, endovascular surgery and surgical techniques. Recent publications focus on special topics in endovascular aortic stent grafting. He has been an author of more than 180 original completed communications in reviewed journals, 60 book chapters, and has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international professional meetings. In addition, Dr. Marin has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Endovascular Surgery and Journal of Vascular Surgery.

    Dr. Marin is a member of many regional and national professional societies. His professional accomplishments have been recognized with awards from the American Society of Gastroenterology, the Society for Vascular Surgery, and the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society.

    Dr. Marin earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, and finished a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, also in New York City.
