Narayan Nair, MD

    Commander Narayan Nair, MD, serves as a senior program officer in the Office of the Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) in the Office of the US Surgeon General. He is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to deployment of MRC volunteers who are willing, able, and approved to serve outside their local jurisdiction during a large-scale emergency. Commander Nair previously served as a medical team leader with the Office of Counter-Terrorism and Emergency Coordination in the Food and Drug Administration. His primary role was to assist with facilitating drug development for treatment of victims of weapons of mass destruction with a focus on treatments for casualties due to radiation and chemical threat agents.
