Paul Holman, MD

    Dr. Paul Holman is a neurosurgeon for the Methodist Neurological Institute (NI) at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. He delivers general neurosurgical care, as well as complex and minimally invasive spinal reconstructive surgery, and is responsible for teaching NI residents surgical procedures in the operating room and didactic teaching through daily rounds and conferences. He also serves on the hospital's Procedures and Criteria Committee, and the Neurosurgical and Critical Care Management Performance Improvement Subcommittee.

    Dr. Holman's professional memberships include the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons and North American Spine Society (NASS). He is currently affiliated with both the Methodist Hospital and Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, and his research interests include the clinical and cadaveric study of applications of intraoperative spinal stereotaxis in complex and minimally invasive spinal procedures.

    Trained at Baylor College of Medicine via positions as a general surgery intern and neurological surgery resident, Dr. Holman proceeded directly after to serve as a spinal surgery fellow for the Cleveland Clinic. He was then an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and on-staff at Rochester General Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. He received his bachelor's degree in microbiology from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine.
