Philip A. Philip, MD, PhD, FRCP
    Philip is a Professor of Oncology and Pharmacology at Wayne State University School of Medicine and the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, MI. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He leads the GI and neuroendocrine multidisciplinary team at Karmanos. Philip Philip’s primary research focus is in developing novel therapeutic agents and therapeutic combinations in patients with GI and neuroendocrine tumors. He is actively involved in Phase I-III clinical trials at the national and international levels. He belongs to several professional organizations including the American pancreatic Association, American Association of Cancer research, Sowthwest Oncology Group, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Philip serves on the Editorial Board on several journals. He has authored over 160 articles in peer-reviewed journal, 7 book chapters and many invited review articles. Philip received his BA (1971, American Jesuit Fathers College, Baghdad, Iraq), MD (1977, University of Baghdad College of Medicine), and PhD in Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacogenetics (1986, University of London, UK). He trained in oncology at the University of Oxford (UK) and the MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in the UK.
