Dr. Rachel Kim received her medical degree with honors (AOA Honor Medical Society) from the Chicago Medical School at the University of Health Sciences and is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. During her fellowship in rheumatology at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California, she was involved in several clinical research trials studying novel therapies for rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Kim's work with patients as a staff physician at Kaiser Permanente and Scripps Clinic has included the musculoskeletal complications of diabetes. 

Dr. Kim is a coauthor of the "Diabetes Can Affect Your Musculoskeletal System" chapter in the third edition of the book Taking Control of Your Diabetes and has been published in such journals as Current Diabetes Reports and Clinical Diabetes.
