Dr. Sarah Lorentz is a pharmacist specializing in ambulatory care in San Diego, California. She practices at the St. Vincent De Paul Village Family Health Center, which provides care to the homeless and underserved in the community. Her practice involves medication and adherence management of patients with multiple medical problems including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, depression, and other psychiatric disorders.

Dr. Lorentz is the ambulatory care coordinator for the University of California, San Diego Pharmacy Residency Program. In addition, she also coordinates the ambulatory care experiential education for the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at UC San Diego.  

Special interests of Dr. Lorentz include anticoagulation, patient education, and immunization related issues. She has established the Immunization Training Program at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in May, 2006. She is the advisor to a pharmacy student group, "Operation Immunization", which is involved with immunizing and educating patients in the San Diego. Recently, she has been researching the role of pharmacists as immunizers in the community.

Dr. Lorentz has practiced pharmacy at the University of California San Diego, Medical Center for many years. She was instrumental in developing the UCSD Pharmacy Home Infusion Service that provides pharmaceuticals, supplies, and medication management for patients needing infusion therapies at home.  Throughout her years she has been involved with precepting pharmacy students and residents in her practice settings. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Minnesota and completed a two year fellowship in ambulatory care pharmacy at University of California San Diego.
