Dr. Sue Thomas is a professor of nursing and assistant dean for the doctoral program at the University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore. She was the principal investigator for the 2003-2007 Patients' and Families' Psychological Responses to HAT (PRHAT). The study's objective was to investigate long-term changes in anxiety and depression and the moderating influences of social support and family coping skills on these changes for post MI patients and their spouses and companions after training to respond to sudden cardiac arrest.
Dr. Thomas's research interests include the psychosocial factors in cardiovascular health, depression in heart failure patients, and family coping.
