Suzanne Steinbaum, DO

    Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum is an attending cardiologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, and director of Women and Heart Disease at the Heart and Vascular Institute. Prior to joining Lenox Hill, she was director of the Center for Cardiac and Pulmonary Health at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.

    Dr. Steinbaum has devoted her career to the treatment of heart disease through early detection, education, and prevention. She was one of the founders of the New York's Women's Cardiac Care Network, a city-wide program sponsored by Continuum Health Partners, a nonprofit five-hospital system, including Beth Israel, Roosevelt Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, Long Island College Hospital, and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

    Dr. Steinbaum has lectured nationally on the topics of coronary artery disease, women and heart disease, natural and alternative ways of treating heart disease and the prevention of heart disease. She is often cited in magazines and newspapers, and has done network news health segments for ABC, NBC and CBS as a leading consultant in the field of women and heart disease, preventive cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation. Dr. Steinbaum is a published author and presently has a monthly column in the lifestyle magazine, The Boulevard.
