Theo Zaoutis, MD
    Dr. Zaoutis is a pediatric infectious disease physician who focuses on infection control and hospital epidemiology. His current areas of interest include the epidemiology of candidemia in children and the emergence of resistant organisms such as MRSA and multi-resistant Gram-negative bacteria. Theo is director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at CHOP and in this capacity is investigating evidenced based approaches to antibiotic use in pediatric infections.

    Dr. Zaoutis is an assistant professor of pediatrics and a Senior Scholar in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

    Dr. Zaoutis currently serves as an advisor to the research committee (Host Risk Group 34) of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, Bacteriology and Mycology Study Group and an investigator with the Centers for Education and Research in Therapeutics, administered by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
