Warner K. Huh, MD

    Warner K. Huh, MD is Professor (with Tenure) in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and the Margaret Cameron Spain Endowed Chair in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and a Senior Scientist in the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr Huh received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, DC. His postgraduate training included a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is board certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and American College of Surgeons. He has been named in the Best Doctors in America? database and has received numerous awards for his clinical care, teaching and research accomplishments including the 2009 Society of Gynecologic Oncologists Presidential Award and the 2012 American Cancer Society Lane W. Adams Quality of Life Award.

    His clinical interests include minimally invasive surgical approaches and robotic surgery. Dr Huh's research interests include vaccines for cervical neoplasia, in vivo spectroscopy for cervical neoplasia, and treatment approaches for endometrial cancer. He has authored or co-authored over 110 articles including publications in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Cancer, Clinical Cancer Research, Gynecologic Oncology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He is the recipient of a R01 research grant from the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute (RO1CA133749-01) and an American Cancer Society Research Scholars Grant. He is the co-leader of two projects and sits on the steering committee of the Johns Hopkins-UAB Cervical Cancer Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) program (2P50CA098252-06A1) and is co-leader of the Virology Program of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Huh is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Cervical and Uterine Cancers Panel.
