Dr. William Gahl is director of the Undiagnosed Diseases Program, National Institutes of Health, clinical director of the National Human Genome Research Institute NHGRI, and senior investigator, Medical Genetics Branch.  As clinical director, NHGRI, he studies inborn errors of metabolism through observation and treatment of patients in the clinic and through biochemical, molecular biological, and cell biological investigations in the lab. Involvement in the Undiagnosed Diseases Program compliments his particular research and clinical work and affords collaboration on undiagnosed disease cases with colleagues in various medical specialties at NIH.
