Dr. William Parker is a clinical professor of gynecology at the University of California, Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine, and a faculty member of the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, California. He has served previously as the chair of obstetrics and gynecology at Saint John's Hospital and Health Center in Santa Monica and at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Parker has been involved since 1994 with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, an international association of over 4,000 gynecologists from 53 countries. After serving on the Association's board of trustees for many years, he was elected president in 2000, and is currently chair of the advisory board. He has also served two terms as an editor of the Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and is now on the editorial advisory board. He is also a reviewer for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Gynecologic Techniques, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology andFertility and Sterility.

Dr. Parker received his medical degree from Downstate Medical School in New York, and completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California Hospital in San Diego.
