  • Overview

    This activity will discuss approaches that enable physicians to perform hysteroscopic surgery more safely and effectively by focusing on best practices, overcoming operative difficulties, and the inclusion of pharmacologic agents that improve visualization, reduce vascularity, and lower the possibility of hyponatremia.

    After participating in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

    • Improve gynecologic awareness and competence in incorporating preventative/real-time remedial and safety best practices into their hysteroscopic surgeries
    • Improve gynecologic confidence and competence when addressing operative challenges related to difficult hysteroscopic insertion through mechanical and pharmacologic intervention
    • Introduce the concept of vaginoscopic insertion of the hysteroscope for diagnostic and operative procedures
    • Increase inclusion of a pharmacologic agent that decreases excessive fluid absorption and intraoperative bleeding in patients considered at risk

    This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of Ob/Gyns, Gyns, advanced practice professionals and nurses who perform MIS procedures or would like to perform MIS procedures.
