Dr. Alan Hemming is a professor of surgery and chief of transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine. His research and clinical interests include benign and malignant disorders of the liver, bile ducts, gallbladder and pancreas, in addition to liver transplantation.
Dr. Hemming earned his medical degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He then completed his surgery internship at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, and his general surgery residency at the University of British Columbia. He also finished two fellowships--in hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery and in liver transplantation--at the University of Toronto Hospital.
