Dr. Levenson is a professor of psychiatry, medicine, and surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where he also chairs the division of consultation-liaison psychiatry. Dr. Levenson is also the vice-chair for clinical affairs within the department of psychiatry. He has published over 165 papers and book chapters, and four books, including Psychiatry Essentials for Primary Care, and The American Psychiatric Publishing Textbook of Psychosomatic Medicine. His scholarly interests include psychiatric disorders and their treatment in the medically ill, as well as the effects of psychological factors on health care utilization, and medical ethics.
