Dr. Richard Lipton is professor and vice chair of neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECM), and director of the Montefiore Headache Center in the Bronx, New York. He is also a professor of epidemiology and population health, and psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the AECM.
Dr. Lipton earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, finished his internship in internal medicine at Northwestern University Hospital in Chicago, and completed his residency in neurology at the AECM. He also finished two fellowships, one in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at the AECM, the other in neuroepidemiology at the Sergievsky Center at Columbia University in New York.
